Background and Medical Experience
Originally from Bristol, after A-Levels I studied for my MBBS at Queen Mary University of London, Barts and The London Medical School from 1999 to 2005.
I was awarded an intercalated BSc degree in Physiological and Molecular Science from the University of Bristol in 2003-2004.
I passed the 2 day Admiralty Interview Board process and was awarded a Royal Navy Medical Cadetship in 2003.
I completed my Foundation Year One training in Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford, rotating through cardiology, chest medicine and 6 months of surgical attachments.
I completed my Foundation Year Two training in Whipps Cross Hospital, London, rotating through ENT, A+E and paediatrics.
In 2007 I undertook and completed officer training with the Royal Navy before going on to serve as medical officer in a variety of warships on lengthy deployments around the globe and UK shore establishments including local Plymouth bases such as HMS DRAKE and HMS RALEIGH.
In 2010 I chose to pursue a career in General Practice and as part of the training I completed rotations in Geriatrics, Opthalmology and Obstetrics and Gynaecology at MDHU Frimley Park, Surrey.
I completed my training in General Practice working at The Seymour Medical Practice and Hanham Health surgeries in Bristol from 2011-2013.
I moved from Bristol to Plymouth in 2013 where I have worked as a full-time locum GP in a wide variety of practices to the present day.
I live in Plymouth with my wife, Emma and our young son Harry.
